CAIRO, July 3 (MENA) - Egypt’s new Foreign and Emigration Minister Badr Abdel Ati expressed pride and deep appreciation of the president's confidence to select him for the post.

The minister made the remarks on Wednesday in his first statements to the press upon arrival at the Foreign Ministry's HQ.

Abdel Ati said he is aware of the responsibility which he shoulders in light of the Egyptian state's leverage.

He pledged to proceed with the march of defending Egypt's interests and national security in line with the directives of the prime minister of the new government.

Abdel Ati promised to exert utmost efforts to enhance Egypt's relations with regional and international partners in addition to defending national, Arab and African issues in various forums while abiding by international law rules and principles.

He expressed confidence of the Egyptian diplomatic capability to ensure Egypt's security amid piling international and regional challenges.

The minister stressed that his ministry will give due attention to the Egyptians abroad in the coming period.

He asserted that taking care of Egyptian citizens' interests will remain at the top of the priorities of the Egyptian foreign policy. (MENA)
