CAIRO, June 29 (MENA) - Egypt condemned Israel's recent decision to legalize five settlement outposts in the occupied West Bank and plan for building thousands of new settlement units, in flagrant violation of international law and UNSC resolutions, especially Resolution No. 2334.

In a statement by the Foreign Ministry on Saturday, Cairo condemned the exploitation by Israel of its ongoing genocidal aggression on the Gaza Strip to further consolidate illegal colonial expansion and attempt to alter the legal status in the occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem.

Egypt deplored that such illegal practices are meant to undermine the two-state solution, which is grounded in respecting the Palestinian people’s inalienable rights and deemed the only way to attain comprehensive and lasting peace.

Egypt called on the international community to intervene to halt Israel’s ongoing illegal practices and violations of the Palestinian people’s rights and intensify efforts to put an immediate end to the catastrophic humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip. (MENA)
