MAKKA, Saudi Arabia, June 22 (MENA) – The assistant minister of interior for the administrative affairs sector and head of the official Hajj delegation announced Saturday that 870 lottery package pilgrims have departed from Makka to Madinah Munawarah.

Head of the mission told MENA that the pilgrims, including people from Cairo and Assiut, will return home on Wednesday via Prince Mohammad Bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah.

He added that coordination is under way for arranging a visit for pilgrims to Al-Rawdah Al-Sharfiah, which is an extension of Prophet Muhammad Mosque in Madina.

On Friday, the second batch of pilgrims - standing at 435 - was sent from Makka to Madinah Munawarah.

The official announced on Friday that coordination is under way for an airlift between Saudi Arabia and Cairo to send lottery package pilgrims home.

He added that King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah and Prince Mohammad Bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah are on alert to swiftly finalize procedures of pilgrims to return home. (MENA)
