CAIRO, June 22 (MENA) – Since President Abdel Fattah El Sisi assumed power in 2014, Egypt has succeeded in advocating the rights of the African continent toward achieving peace, stability and development, with Cairo restoring its pioneering and key role in settling crises and conflicts across Africa.

Efforts of the political leadership, backed by the Egyptian diplomacy and state bodies, have managed throughout the past decade to establish balanced relationships based on mutual respect, achieving shared interests and avoiding interference in the internal affairs of world countries, with a top priority given to Egypt’s regional, African and Arab affiliation.

Egypt upholds its efforts to fulfill Africa’s priorities through its current membership of the African Peace and Security Council (PSC) as well as the great importance attached by President Sisi to the file of reconstruction and development in the wake of conflicts in Africa and his chairmanship of the African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD) Heads of State and Government Orientation Committee.

In light of the top priority given to Africa, Egypt hosts several headquarters of AU agencies and bodies, topped by the African Space Agency, the NEPAD Center of Excellence on Climate Resilience and the African Union Center for Post-conflict Reconstruction and Development (PCRD). (MORE)
