EL ARISH, Egypt, May 1 (MENA) - Members of Egypt's parliament stressed on Wednesday that the Union of Arab Tribes is an entity that supports the State and its political leadership represented in President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and will work tirelessly for serving the State’s interests.

Speaking to MENA on the sidelines of their participation in the founding conference of the tribal union, the House and Senate members said choosing Sinai to be the venue of the first conference of the union is a strong message to all those who seek to undermine the State and cast doubts on its capabilities.

Egypt, they said, has succeeded in eradicating terrorism from Sinai and has now begun its march for development and construction to place the Sinai Peninsula on the country's development map, they said.

Abdel Baset Sharqawi, deputy head of the Wafd Party, expressed happiness to take part in the conference that is taking place in Sinai which is going through a comprehensive development process.

He hoped that Ibrahim el Arjani's chairmanship of the union will be a strong impetus to the nascent entity, expressing the support of Egyptians and the union to the State and the Armed Forces under the leadership of President Sisi.

Hamad Moussa, secretary of Future of the Nation Party, expressed happiness over the establishment of Sisi city in Sinai, saying it is a major accomplishment on the land of the peninsula, that once was the scene of a fierce war against terrorism.

He lauded the unprecedented development process currently taking place in Sinai, saying a better future is waiting for this precious land thanks to the development projects the country will implement. (MENA)
