NEW ALAMEIN CITY, July 16 (MENA) - Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli has emphasized the importance of ahleya (private and non-profit national) universities and their role in offering diverse educational opportunities that contribute to preparing qualified cadres for both local and international labor markets.

He also highlighted their role in enhancing the competitiveness of educational institutions, supporting and stimulating innovation and entrepreneurship, and improving the quality of education across various fields and sectors that are of priority for the Egyptian state, in line with global developments in these sectors.

Madbouli made the remarks as he chaired a meeting on Wednesday at the government headquarters in New Alamein City to follow up on ahleya university system.

The meeting was attended by Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation Rania el Mashat, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Ayman Ashour, President of Helwan University El Sayed Kandil, President of Mansoura University Sherif Khater, President of Assiut University Ahmed el Minshawy, and President of Cairo University Mohamed Sami Abdelsadek.

The meeting was also attended by former president of Ain Shams University and Head of the Business Studies Sector at the Supreme Council of Universities Hussein Essa, Assistant Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Policies and Economic Affairs Mohamed el Sharkawy, and Assistant Minister of Finance for Public Budget Affairs Ali El Sisi, among other officials.

During the meeting, the higher education minister presented a comprehensive proposal for the national education system in Egypt based on establishing an integrated entity that includes academic and service bodies such as universities, hospitals, and logistical services. (MENA)
