CAIRO, July 10 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Egyptian Expatriates and Emigration Badr Abdelatty held a number of phone calls with Arab foreign ministers and officials.
The talks were part of Egypt's ongoing efforts to strengthen coordination and consultation within Arab nation during the current juncture.
The phone calls included calls with Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Jordan Ayman Safadi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad of Algeria Ahmed Attaf, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Oman Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kuwait Abdullah Al Yahya and Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates Nasser Bourita,
The calls focused on bilateral relations between Egypt and Arab countries, in addition to bolstering Arab unity and joint action at a time of significant regional turmoil.
Abdelatty emphasized the deeply rooted ties and strong historical bonds linking Egypt to its Arab neighbors.
He highlighted Egypt’s unwavering dedication to advancing Arab cooperation, both bilaterally and within the broader of regional and international arenas.
A central focus of the discussions was the ongoing crisis in the Gaza Strip.
The foreign minister and his counterparts exchanged views on the latest developments and the coordinated Egyptian-Qatari-US efforts aimed at reaching a ceasefire, securing the release of hostages and detainees, ending the bloodshed and ensuring the unimpeded flow of humanitarian aid into Gaza.
Abdelatty also briefed the Arab foreign ministers on Egypt’s preparations to host an international conference on early recovery and reconstruction in Gaza, that would be organized in coordination with the Palestinian authority and the United Nations and planned to take place immediately after reaching a ceasefire agreement.
