CAIRO, June 2 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty on Monday said that Egypt appreciates support of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) for its peaceful nuclear program, particularly in light of the ongoing expansion in this program under President Abdel Fattah el Sisi.

Abdelatty made the remarks during a meeting with visiting IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi.

Grosssi's visit reflects the strength of fruitful cooperation between Egypt and the IAEA and recognizes the agency's pivotal role in promoting peaceful uses of the nuclear energy, Abdelatty said.

The meeting between President Sisi and the IAEA director addressed cooperation between Egypt and the agency, particularly in the areas of technical know-how, training and capacity-building, the foreign minister said.

He added that the meeting came within the framework of Egypt’s ambitious peaceful nuclear program in El Dabaa town, Matrouh governorate. (MORE)
