CAIRO, June1 (MENA) – Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli on Sunday witnessed the signing of a protocol between the Arab Contractors Company and China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC) to establish a consortium to carry out projects in Egypt and across the African continent.
The cooperation protocol was signed by Hassan Mustafa, the senior vice chairman of Arab Contractors, and CSCEC Egypt General Manager Chang Weicai.
The signing ceremony was attended by Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities Sherif el Sherbiny, Qu Dongyu, the Chinese vice minister at the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, and a host of officials of both companies and the Egyptian housing ministry.
The move aims to reinforce the strategic relationship and growing partnership between Egypt and China across various sectors, Madbouli said.
He added that the protocol builds on the current momentum in Egyptian-Chinese relations, enabling broader cooperation and coordination for mutual benefit.
Meanwhile, minister Sherbiny said that this protocol is the fruit of his recent successful visit to China, where he held several meetings with Chinese officials and proposed collaboration between CSCEC, one of the world's largest construction entities, and Arab Contractors, a key Egyptian state-owned construction firm with a strong track record of achievements in Egypt, the Middle East, and Africa.
The cooperation between Arab Contractors and CSCEC represents a significant opportunity for expanding outreach across Africa, combining the joint efforts and resources of both companies and leveraging their extensive expertise in this promising sector, the minister added. (MENA)
