CAIRO, May 21 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigration Badr Abdelatty expressed his appreciation for the efforts made by Secretary General of the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) Chileshe Kapwepwe during Egypt's presidency of the bloc.
He noted that her efforts contributed significantly to deepening economic integration among member states.
He praised the constructive cooperation between Egypt and the COMESA secretariat during Egypt’s presidency of the bloc, highlighting the initiatives launched to promote regional integration and economic development.
Abdelatty also reaffirmed Egypt’s continued support for COMESA’s objectives and its commitment to working with member states to foster sustainable growth and regional stability.
He affirmed Egypt's readiness to transfer its expertise in various fields, including the establishment and operation of specialized economic and industrial zones, as well as projects related to the green economy and solar energy.
Abdelatty emphasized the important role played by COMESA member states in supporting the activities of the Secretariat and its institutions in order to maximize the benefits of economic integration, considering it one of the key factors in overcoming the current economic challenges facing the region.
