CAIRO, May 21 (MENA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates, Badr Abdelatty, reaffirmed Egypt’s support for sustaining peace through strong national institutions.
In his speech at the Africa–Europe ministerial meeting in Brussels, Abdelatty stressed the importance of regional cooperation in responding to conflict, terrorism, and irregular migration.
He called for strengthening African early warning systems and mediation efforts, and urged European support for the African Union’s reconstruction and development center based in Cairo.
The top diplomat added that Egypt remains committed to the AU–EU partnership, especially under current global tensions, and welcomed European engagement with African peace and security frameworks.
He also called for continued funding of the African Union mission in Somalia, noting that success in Somalia could serve as a model for future joint efforts. (MENA)
