CAIRO, April 2 (MENA) - President Abdel Fattah El Sisi mourned Pope Francis of the Vatican who died Monday at 88.

President Sisi said in a presidential statement that Pope Francis was an exceptional international figure that dedicated himself for service of human values and worked tirelessly for promoting the values of tolerance, understanding among faiths, building bridges of dialogue among peoples, supporting the Palestinian cause, defending the legitimate rights and achieving just and durable peace.

The president said the death of Pope Francis represented a gross loss to the entire world as he was the voice of peace, love, mercy and noble values.

President Sisi offered condolences to the state of the Vatican and the followers of the Pope, praying to God have mercy on him. (MENA)
