CAIRO, April 17 (MENA) - During its weekly meeting on Thursday under Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli, the cabinet agreed to fund the increase of the value of the periodic grants provided to irregular workers registered in the Labor Ministry’s database from EGP 1,000 to EGP 1,500.
The move comes as part of the social protection package initially introduced in response to directives from President Abdel Fattah El Sisi as part of broader efforts to support low-income families and mitigate the impact of rising living costs.
Moreover, the cabinet approved a number of draft presidential decrees regarding the establishment of five new Ahlia universities as part of the state's action plan to expand the construction of higher educational institutions nationwide.
Additionally, the cabinet agreed on a draft law on a mechanism for exchanging information for taxation purposes.
Participants also approved a draft law on regulating the specialized medical centers as per the law of the universal health insurance system in the state. (MENA)
