CAIRO, April 17 (MENA) - President Abdel Fattah El Sisi lauded Slovenian stances supporting rights of the Palestinians including Slovenia's recognition of the Palestinian state.
During a meeting on Thursday with President of the Slovenian National Assembly Urška Klakočar in presence of Speaker of the House of Representatives Hanafi el-Gebali the Egyptian president said, establishing a Palestinian state is the only guarantee to achieve permanent peace and stability in the region.
The meeting tackled means to boost cooperation between Egypt and Slovenia, Presidential Spokesman Mohamed el-Shenawy said.
It also highlighted the regional situation, the spokesman said, adding that the president of the Slovenian National Assembly listened to Sisi's vision on the efforts exerted to restore ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and exchange hostages and prisoners, in addition to delivering humanitarian aid supplies to the enclave.
President Sisi lauded tangible development witnessed in the relations with Slovenia recently, he said.
He praised the pivotal role of the parliamentary institutions in both countries to promote cooperation, especially in the economic, trade and investment fields, the spokesman added.
For her part, Klakočar lauded Egypt's stance, asserting Slovenian rejection to the displacement of the Palestinians.
She lauded the Egyptian essential role in achieving peace and stability in the Middle East. (MENA)
