DOHA, April 14 (MENA) - President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and Emir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani underscored their total rejection of displacement of the Palestinians.
They emphasized the necessity of supporting the Arab plan for reconstructing the Gaza Strip without the displacement of the Palestinians, in addition to finding a political horizon toward the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967 borders with al Quds as its capital.
President Sisi's remarks came at a meeting with the Qatari emir at the Amiri Diwan in the Qatari capital Doha on Monday at the start of a Gulf tour.
Presidential Spokesman Mohamed el Shennawy said the meeting saw an exchange of viewpoints between the two leaders regarding efforts exerted for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip along with addressing the deteriorating humanitarian situation in the enclave.
The meeting tackled ways of ensuring the provision of humanitarian assistance in sufficient quantities to avoid a humanitarian catastrophe in the enclave and the exchange of hostages and prisoners.
The two leaders reviewed a number of issues and regional developments, topped by the situation in Syria, Lebanon and Sudan. They confirmed the importance of maintaining unity and safety of these countries, according to the spokesman.
President Sisi underlined the importance of boosting cooperation between Egypt and Qatar on all fronts.
Shennawy said President Sisi and Emir of Qatar chaired an expanded meeting, followed by bilateral talks between the two leaders. (MENA)
