CAIRO, April 14 (MENA) - Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli asserted that he is following up the implementation of Julius Nyerere Hydropower Station, a hydroelectric dam across the Rufiji River in eastern Tanzania to generate electricity.

The project is receiving the greater attention by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and his constant directives to carry out its different components and phases at the highest level, added Madbouli at a meeting to review the executive situation of the project on Monday.

The project is carried out by Egyptian companies, namely Arab Contractors and El Sewedy Electric.

The meeting was attended by Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities Sherif el Sherbini and a number of senior state officials.

The premier said the project is important as it is reflecting the capabilities and potentials of the national Egyptian companies to fulfil such major projects at the international level, especially in Africa. (MENA)
