CAIRO, March 13 (MENA) - Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli stressed Egypt's commitment to implementing various structural and economic reforms meant to improve economic sustainability and promote inclusive growth across all sectors.

Madbouli referred to the Egyptian government's long efforts toward setting reform measures aimed at achieving financial and economic stability and steering the economy toward greater diversification and sustainability.

This came in a speech the prime minister delivered Thursday during his participation in the launch of the second follow-up report of the NWFE National Platform and a roundtable discussion on developments in the implementation of the National Platform for the NWFE Program focusing on the link between food and energy projects.

The gathering was held in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development, Minister of Industry and Transport Kamel el-Wazir, a number of ministers, MPs, a group of ambassadors and heads of missions of number of countries, representatives of international institutions, development partners and the private sector, along with a number of officials from relevant ministries and agencies.

Minister of Planning, economic development and International Cooperation Rania el-Mashat highlighted the success of the national platform for the NWFE Program in mobilizing and securing private sector investments worth of approximately dlrs 4 billion over the past two years.

In his speech, the premier also extended his best wishes on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, praying to God Almighty to bestow peace and mercy upon Egypt and the world.

Madbouli highlighted efforts made by the various development partners, including partner countries, institutions and multilateral development banks, to support Egypt's sustainable development process and climate action agenda.

He also highlighted extensive coordination efforts exerted by the Ministry of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation - the national coordinator of the NWFE National Platform, together with ongoing efforts on multiple, integrated tracks.

In this context, the prime minister commended efforts made by various development partners, including partner countries, institutions, and multilateral development banks, in supporting Egypt's sustainable development process and climate action agenda. He also highlighted diligent coordination drives of the Ministry of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation, the national coordinator of the National Platform NWFE.

Meantime, he outlined advancements in climate-focused projects across the water, food, energy, and sustainable transport sectors. He said the role of national platforms in development work is considered one of the essential tools and accelerators for achieving Sustainable Development Goals, enhancing cooperation and coordination of efforts among various stakeholders, exchanging knowledge and achieving positive impacts at the economic and social levels, as well as upgrading national capacities' monitoring and evaluation skills, thus directing investments towards national priorities and achieving transparency and accountability and supporting innovation and development.

The prime minister said, Egypt, through the Ministry of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation intends to launch the Integrated National Strategy for Sustainability and Development Financing next week.

The strategy aims to identify all financing tools the Egyptian government can use to address development gaps across various sectors, Madbouli added.

The primer - in his speech - voiced appreciation of strenuous efforts exerted by relevant national bodies, especially the Ministry of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation for their effective coordination, transparency and action on integrated paths and providing a comprehensive review of progress made regarding the projects of the National Platform NWFE.
