CAIRO, March 5 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty on Wednesday handed over a message from President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to Denis Sassou Nguesso, the President of the Republic of the Congo.
The message tackled the positive developments in Egyptian-Congolese relations, according to a press release here.
Both countries are seeking to take more steps in the coming period to promote bilateral cooperation in order to serve joint interests and the benefit of their peoples, the top diplomat said.
During a meeting, which was attended by the Congolese defense minister in the capital Brazzaville, Abdelatty conveyed the greetings of president Sisi to his brother president Nguesso, asserting the depth and strength of relations between the two sisterly countries.
He underscored the importance of arranging for holding the second round of the joint committee between the two countries.
The foreign minister said Egypt is ready for supporting Congo Brazzaville to activate the 2022/2026 national development plan which calls for achieving developmental goals in the fields of agriculture, digital transformation, tourism, real estate, industry and the upgrading of economic zones.
The visit aims for exploring ways to expand bilateral cooperation, elevate economic cooperation and boost joint trade and investment. That is in addition to exchanging views on regional affairs of mutual concern. (MENA)
