SUEZ, Egypt, Feb 27 (MENA) - Prime Minister Minister Mostafa Madbouli asserted that President Abdel Fattah El Sisi gave directives to pay a greater attention to developing ports.
The premier's remarks came during his tour of the Ain Sokhna Integrated Industrial Zone, a key area within the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) on Thursday.
The prime minister was keen to inspect the sites of the project aimed at completing and upgrading Ain Sokhna harbor.
Madbouli said he is regularly following up on the project and acting to finalize it soon.
Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport Kamel el Wazir said that Ain Sokhna port is considered a main element of the Sokhna–Dekheila logistics corridor.
There are presidential directives to implement the project of the Sokhna-Alexandria Integrated Logistics Axis, he added.
He underlined the importance of the logistics route of Sokhna-Alexandria, starting from Sokhna port on the Gulf of Suez and the Red Sea to Alexandria port on the Mediterranean. (MENA)
