SUEZ, Egypt, Feb 27 (MENA) - Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli inaugurated on Thursday a 25,000-square-meter factory of Air Liquide at 80 million euro investments.
The prime minister is on a tour of the integrated Sokhna area - an affiliate to the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCEZONE)
The factory is specialized in producing Production of oxygen, nitrogen, and argon (liquefied gas), said Brian Shetty of Air Liquide Sokhna for Industrial Gases.
He added that the pilot operation of the factory started in May 2024.
Meanwhile, Shetty said the factory produces wafer-based solar cells at a production capacity of up to 1 gigawatt/year.
He also said all efforts are meant to help in localizing this vital industry in Egypt and cutting imports. (MENA)
