Ain SOKHNA, Egypt, Feb 27 (MENA) - Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli inaugurated on Thursday the expansion of the Seaboard Company factory, formerly known as Sinopat Company for producing building materials, including cement boards, readymade cement panels, prefabricated walls panels and thermal insulation walls, within the scope of the industrial developer “Main Development Company”.
During a tour of the integrated industrial zone in Sokhna at the Suez Canal Economic Zone(SCEZONE), the prime minister stressed - as he listened to an explanation from the company's board chairman Charle Khoury - the importance of this project in serving the construction sector by enhancing capabilities meant to implement projects incorporating the most up-to-date modern technologies.
The factory is a Lebanese investment, Khoury said, adding that the new expansions include a cement panel factory built on an area of 60,000 square meters, at an investment cost of dlrs 25 million. The factory provides 125 job opportunities and its construction was completed within ten months, Khoury said.
He also referred to the Ecobat for Industrial Development; a factory for manufacturing gypsum boards that was built on an area of 10,000 square meters at an investment cost worth of dlrs 15 million dollars, providing 225 job opportunities. He said the construction of the factory was completed within eight months starting from June 2024, thus bringing the total investments of the factory after the new expansions to dlrs 100 million dollars.
During the tour, the prime minister inspected the stages of the gypsum board production line, starting from receiving the raw materials, the manufacturing area, including stages of mixing, drying, then cutting, until reaching the final product, packaging and preparation for shipping.
Madbouli also moved to the Fiber Cement Board Factory - the company’s cement boards board, as he checked out its main products and listened to a detailed explanation in this respect, expounding the different production stages of this type of building material.
Khoury pointed out that this factory will be the beginning of new investments represented in a group of projects with investments of about dlrs 500 mn.
He also praised the economic development of the Suez Canal area in light of numerous advantages achieved in it, praising facilitation of procedures and incentives in this regard.
Madbouli also saw samples of the products offered by the factory regarding “cement boards,” and visited a pavilion containing the company’s ready-mixed concrete products after installation, which is called Modela Complex- a two-storey house, built within a period of only a month - from factory products, with certain specifications that take into account temperature and other conditions.
The prime minister was keen on seeing the house from the inside and listened to a detailed explanation featuring its components, along with the possibility of dismantling and installing these houses.
Khoury explained during the tour that the company's production is divided into 50% meant to meet local needs and 50% to be exported abroad. (MENA)
