CAIRO, Feb 26 (MENA) - Arab League (AL ) Secretary-General Ahmed Abul Gheit condemned in the strongest possible terms Israeli attacks and raids on Syrian territories, considering Israeli violations as reckless provocation and an escalation against the opportunity of political transition in Syria to impose an illegal and illegitimate reality.

In a statement Wednesday, official spokesman of the AL secretary general Jamal Rushdi quoted the AL secretary general as saying that the Israeli occupation of any Syrian territory came in violation of international law and the international community should adopt a clear stand to condemn this unjustified aggression meant to ignite tension in the region and put obstacles in the way of political transition in Syria.

He reiterated the pan-Arab body's solidarity with Syria in confronting the Israeli aggression on its lands and Israel's blatant attempts to sow the seeds of discord. (MENA)
