CAIRO, Jan 20 (MENA) - Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty stressed Monday the importance of abiding by the Gaza ceasefire agreement reached recently between the Palestinian movement of Hamas and Israel.

In a telephone call he received from his Nepalese counterpart Arzu Deuba Rana, the Egyptian foreign minister called on parties to implement the deal without delay.

The two ministers discussed bilateral relations and means to cement them in various domains.

The foreign minister said the current phase is witnessing serious international efforts to deliver aid to Gaza and reconstruct its infrastructure.

Abdelatty praised distinguished relations binding Egypt and Nepal, pointing out that the Egyptian side looks forward to holding the second round of political consultations and boosting cooperation between the two countries.

For his part, the Nepalese foreign minister hailed Egyptian efforts, in cooperation with the United States and Qatar, during the past months, to reach the ceasefire deal.
