CAIRO, Jan 2 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty on Thursday emphasized the growing significance of cultural diplomacy and soft power in achieving national objectives.

Meeting with officials of his ministry's cultural sector, Abdelatty stressed the importance of continued coordination with ministries and cultural institutions to showcase Egypt's distinctive cultural, intellectual, and civilizational heritage.

He called for intensifying the cultural activities of Egyptian embassies abroad and participating in international forums to elevate Egypt's international standing and highlight its unique cultural legacy.

The minister also listened to a briefing on the ongoing efforts by Egyptian embassies to repatriate smuggled Egyptian artifacts from abroad. He commended the coordination with the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and the Ministry of Culture, which has resulted in the successful retrieval of numerous artifacts.

He underlined the importance of developing a comprehensive strategy for Egyptian embassies to promote the Grand Egyptian Museum in a manner befitting Egypt’s historical and cultural stature.

Furthermore, the minister highlighted the continued collaboration with the Ministry of Awqaf regarding the deployment of imams abroad. He underscored the vital role of Awqaf representatives in promoting the values of tolerance and moderation. (MENA)
