CAIRO, Dec 26 (MENA) - Egypt strongly condemned on Thursday the storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque by the Israeli Minister of National Security, under the protection of the Israeli occupation forces, expressing its complete rejection of this provocative move.
Egypt warned against these extremist actions, which constitute a flagrant and unacceptable violation of the historical and legal status of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. These practices reflect the disregard and provocation of the feelings of Muslims worldwide.
Egypt called on Israel to adhere to its obligations as an occupying power, stressing the importance of respecting the status of the Al-Aqsa Mosque as a place of worship exclusively for Muslims.
Egypt also urges the international community, particularly the United Nations Security Council, to take decisive measures to address these actions and halt violations that reflect a practical rejection of opportunities for peaceful coexistence.
Furthermore, Egypt reiterated the need for reaching a just, lasting, and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue that ensures the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967, borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, and guarantees the right to self-determination for the Palestinian people.
