CAIRO, Dec 12 (MENA) - President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has received a phone call from Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani to discuss regional conditions and reviewed developments in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon.

The two leaders stressed the need for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the implementation of humanitarian aid without conditions or obstacles, said the spokesperson at the presidency.

They also stressed the importance of preserving the ceasefire agreement in Lebanon and implementing UN Security Council Resolution 1701, warning of the repercussions of the continuation and escalation of the conflict on the security and stability of the region.

The call also addressed the situation in Syria and ways to restore security and stability in the country in a way that guarantees its sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity.

They emphasized their keenness to strengthen bilateral relations, especially in the economic, trade and investment fields, in a way that achieves the interests of the two peoples in development.

The two leaders agreed to continue communication between them to follow up on all issues of common interest, the spokesperson said. (MENA)
