CAIRO, Nov 29 (MENA) - President Abdel Fattah El Sisi expressed Egypt's firm solidarity with the Palestinian people amid the successive crises, especially the ongoing humanitarian tragedy in the Gaza Strip caused by the Israeli aggression.
Sisi's remarks came in a message that he sent to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, said the presidential spokesman.
President Sisi said the current humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza clearly shows the international community's failure to stop the killing of Palestinians, underlining the importance of recalling the struggle of Palestinians to get their legitimate rights.
The president also called for addressing the root causes of the Middle East conflict, through reviving the two-state solution in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions, while stressing the necessity of uniting international efforts to end the Israeli occupation and establishing an independent Palestinian state on the 4 June 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
President Sisi reiterated Egypt's commitment to supporting the Palestinian people's steadfastness as well as its rejection to liquidating the Palestinian cause and displacing Palestinians out of their lands.
The president advocated for consolidating the culture of peace and cooperation to achieve regional stability. (MENA)
