CAIRO, June 29 (MENA) - Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli said the government is now focusing on locally manufacturing the components needed for carrying out national projects, including drinking water and waste water treatment projects, which offer massive active engagement opportunities for Germany's BAMAG company.

Madbouli made the remarks during a meeting with BAMAG Executive Director Mansour Iskandar on the fringe of the Egypt-EU Investment Conference here on Saturday, in the presence of Minister of Planning and Economic Development Hala El Saeed and CEO of the Sovereign Fund of Egypt (TSFE) Ayman Soliman.

Iskandar reviewed some of the company's electromechanical projects in a number of treatment plants in Egypt, such as the Potable Water Treatment Plant in the 10th of Ramadan industrial city.

He said the company is willing to produce the components needed by these plants locally to secure more foreign currency for the state.

He added the company may also run and operate some potable water plants under the Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) system.

Welcoming the company's offer to run and operate national projects in partnership with the private sector, Madbouli said producing the components required by treatment plants locally is now one of the government's top priorities. (MENA)
