EL ARISH, Egypt, May 1 (MENA) - Head of the Union of Arab Tribes Ibrahim el-Arjani said on Wednesday Sinai is currently witnessing an unprecedented development boom thanks to the honest and tireless efforts of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi aiming at placing the Sinai Peninsula on the State's development map.

Speaking to MENA on the sidelines of the union’s conference in North Sinai, he said Sinai residents are now reaping the fruits of what they had sown before after they worked hand in hand with the police and army to fight forces of terrorism and cleanse Sinai territories from them.

Now, Sinai residents have another battle to fight; a battle for development and construction, which requires cooperation with the political leadership in all its efforts aiming at developing this precious land.

He said the union will work side by side with the Egyptian state and support all the decisions and actions it takes aiming at preserving the security of the nation and maintaining its stability.

He added that the union brings together under its umbrella Egyptian tribes from all over the country with a total number of individuals approaching 38 million people.

He said the place where the first founding conference of the Union of Arab Tribes was held was - in the past - a stronghold for terrorists but today this place is witnessing the laying down of Sisi’s model city.

He urged Egyptian young people to stand behind the political leadership and not to be dragged behind destructive rumors aiming at threatening national stability. (MENA)
